Local Anesthesia – Safer, Faster Recovery
Dr. James Wire is a go-to expert for self enhancement surgery in the Midwest. Dr. Wire specializes in facial and breast enhancements as well as antiaging skin care with services including neurotoxins, fillers, lasers, and cosmotology services.
All true but the practice is evolving. In May of 2019, Dr. Wire stopped performing surgery because of shoulder arthritis. But his passion to help people and innovate, just like surgery under local anesthesia, remains. He and his staff continue to provide nonsurgical image-enhancing treatments at the office in Chaska, MN.
More about Dr. Wire
Dr. Wire is native to Minnesota and grew up in Plymouth. After graduating from Armstrong High School, he earned an Associates Degree in Biblical Studies while attending North Hennepin Community College. He transferred to the University of Minnesota and earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Physics with a Minor Degree in Latin. While an undergraduate, he pursued his interest in aerospace science by participating in an internship program at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasedena, CA and also worked in the Bioscience Division of 3M.
While in medical school he worked as a research assistant for Dr. Paul Letourneau in the Department of Cell Biology. His interest in image processing and cell biology resulted in a research paper publication and cover illustration on the Journal of Neurocytology.
Formal general and plastic surgery was completed in Grand Rapids, MI from 1994 to 1999 under the Direction of Dr. Steven Ringler and Dr. Bradley Bengston. The accelerated training program was exceptional for its dedicated exposure to all the specialties of plastic surgery including pediatric, burn, hand, breast reconstruction, microsurgery, trauma, and cosmetic from a staff of over 20 faculty surgeons of national and international recognition.
Dr. Wire chose to focus his interest in hand surgery and after the completion of his plastic surgery residency he accepted a Fellowship in Orthopedic Hand Surgery at SUNY Stonybrook University on Long Island, New York under the supervision of Dr. Lawrence Hurst and Dr. Steven Sampson. During this one year period Dr. Wire also sought out further training in cosmetic surgery with the plastic surgeons at the Manhatten Eye, Ear, and Thoat Hospital.
Finally, after 16 long years of post graduate education, Dr. Wire returned to Minnesota to reunite with family and establish his practice in the Southwest metro area. Dr. Wire has been practicing in Chaska and the surrounding community for over 19 years. His practice has evolved from a broad range of services to now focus on self enhancement procedures (We don’t care for the term “cosmetic”). Until Dr. Wire is able to find a junior associate, there will be no surgical offerings. However, his practice delivers state-of-the-art noninvasive body contouring services like EmTone, injectables and the best in skin treatments and products.
Dr. Wire is a strong advocate for patient rights and choices and is committed to patient safety as demonstrated by his commitment to performing all procedures under local anesthesia.
